Nigeria Success story that inspires - Freeman Osonuga

If you have been following me for some time now, you will notice by now that I have great passion for celebrating successful people.

People who go out of their way to do things exceptionally when their peers still sit back to complain and grumble about the nature of the economy are indeed worth celebrating.

These are the people that the world calls CHANGE MAKERS, they believes that impossibility is nothing. Freeman Osonuga is among the finalist of  Kruger Cowner Competition to go to the space. If he wins, he will be the first Black African to travel to the space.

Today, I bring to you this 31year old multiple awards- winning humanitarian, philanthropist and Medical Doctor.  Listen to what he has to say;

“it all started in 2010, I was a medical student at that time, I was moved by passion and the need to make a difference in the lives of people living in extreme poverty, I pioneered a charity organization, HEAL THE WORLD FOUNDATION NIGERIA to cater for orphans, children with disabilities and the less privileged despite being a medical student and with limited resources. Since then, we have made positive difference in the lives of more than 500 children with disabilities and orphans. We have provided support for education, health, welfare and skills acquisition”.

Freeman Osonuga is our very own Nigerian who is also a WIRED 2015 Innovation Fellow, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, a One Young World Ambassador, Founder & Executive Director, Heal The World Foundation Nigeria. He recently completed a 6-month Medical Humanitarian Mission to Sierra Leone as part of African Union's Ebola Response Team.

 Freeman is a recipient of Meritorious Service Award from President Bai Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone. He is a 2014 TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year and one of the 2013 Ten Outstanding Young Persons In Nigeria. He plans to use his adventure to space to initiate a Global Climate Care Advocacy Programme. The risk of climate change has made the earth now five times more dangerous and disaster prone than it was in 1970s. Climate Change is an emergency. We all have to act now by contributing our quarters to save it!

Stand up from your comfort zone and begin to do something exceptional today. People will celebrate you soon. Also, if you know that the story of where you are now will inspire people to wake up from their laziness, slumber and complains, deem it necessary to contact me on decencyinitiative@gmail.com

Until I come your way again, do have a pleasant time.
CHEERS.
