I realized at some point in my life that I’m a sucker for knowledge and intelligence; how it started I may not be able to say though. That is the singular reason for always trying to reach people at all time. I also realized that if you’re more knowledgeable than I am [in any area], my level of respect for you shoots up.
Well, a lot could influence an individual’s level of maturity: some people got help while growing up, some had people around them while growing up but still didn’t get that ‘maturity help’, some grew up without anyone to help with development and as a result, had to develop themselves.
So when does maturity begin, maturity (as said earlier) in this context meaning the development of an individual’s critical thinking abilities. I did come up with a huge list of stuff I thought of as I cracked my head to answer the question: WHAT IS THE TRUE MEANING OF MATURITY?
Maturity means when you realize you should respect anyone who has gone ahead of you in life so as to learn [something]. Why? The day we stop learning, we start dying.
Maturity means when you know your friends, understand them and accept them for who they are, you may not like the character of all of them, but you know them all to the point where nothing they do takes you by surprise. Maturity means when you spend less than you earn and not vice versa.
Maturity means when you learn to delay gratification: as a man, for example, you may have a particular amount of money, you’re single, you’re at cross road thinking “should I buy a car or a land?” knowing very well that car would depreciate with time while the land appreciates, you go for the latter.
Maturity means when a guy marries a chic that stayed by him when he had nothing.
Maturity means when you talk because you have something to say not just because you want to say something.
Maturity means when you have a Blackberry and you use it wisely, not sending every broadcast message that comes to your phone to your contacts: most people can’t stand it.
The more you send these senseless Broadcast messages, the less serious certain people will take you and you would eventually lose them.
Maturity means when you understand that when you step onto a new ground/platform, you keep your cool and observe so as to know what’s going on first before you unravel your own ideas.
Maturity means when you understand you don’t know everything, accept your ignorance and you adopt a ‘willing to learn’ attitude.
Maturity means when a married lady, who is CEO in her Company, drops the CEO tag in the office, and assumes the role of a wife once she is at home.
Maturity means when a lady realizes that the way to a man’s heart is food and sex but the word respect must come before the two.
Maturity means when; you realize that learning continues even after you graduate (from any School)
Maturity means when you realize that until you change as a person, nothing around you changes.
Maturity means when a man realizes that it’s not the number of ladies he has had sex with, that makes him a great man; if 95% of men are gifted in that area, what makes yours different? Or when a lady’s priority is not “DRESS TO KILL” in order to seduce all the men in the world but rather “HOW TO IMPACT OTHER PEOPLES’ LIVES POSITIVELY”.
Before you read further pause for a while and look at this images critically.
Maturity means when you understand that although you have a Blackberry, you choose not to restrict your relationships to BBM alone. You call people on their birthdays despite the fact that you have them as a contact on your BBM.
Maturity means when you are tired of your comfort zone and you strive to surpass your previous level of achievement.
Maturity means when you realize that you should not to talk about people negatively just because you feel there’s nothing to benefit from them. You can never tell what they would be tomorrow.
Maturity means when you realize that faith without work is dead and that the great book known as The Bible says “I will bless the work of your hand” meaning it is when you have something doing that increase can show forth.
Maturity means when you work hard, smart and make wealth instead of stealing from others.
Maturity means when you understand your life is not attached to your possessions, knowing that when you die, the only thing you take is the ‘outfit’ of the dead: burial clothes.
Maturity means when you realize that you’re not on earth to be a spectator but to make things happen.
Maturity means when you stop depending on charity from others and become a giver.
Maturity means when a lady does not invest in her cupboard alone but also in her brain, so that when she opens her mouth to speak, people will be ‘wowed’.
Maturity means when you realize that a candle does not lose its fire by lighting another candle: share your knowledge with people.
In Conclusion, Maturity means when you accept that the world does not recognize a dreamer whose dream has not come to reality.
Are you afraid of what people would say? *smiles* well regardless of what you do, we all will die someday. So is it not better you fulfill your purpose on earth?
