Indecent way of catching fun

Hello friends, am delighted to be here today. I can say with all sincerity that I am not in a very good mood today.

I see a lot of people doing things that is very risky all in the name of catching fun, what kind of fun will an individually possibly be enjoying to the detriment of his/her life?
How will you neglect the risk in the things you intend to do, throw caution into the wind and go ahead to do indecent things in the name of fun?

As I pass through the high way every time; I see people skating on the high way; when they can go the open fields, stadium and school premises to comfortably do that. Some of them are usually crushed by vehicles on high speed, nevertheless, I see others skating on this same high way that their colleagues were killed. Again I do ask myself the kind of fun an individual will be enjoying to the detriment of his/her life.

Sometime, I pass through the street and see thousands of people in beer parlours drinking their life away. How would people think that their problem reduces when they are drunk? That is arrant nonsense, when you drink to stupor; you can only forget your problems for a while, when you wake up from the hangover, you will meet your problems the way it is before you left it.

So many people are suffering from different organ failures; kidney failure particularly is very common now especially with the male folks. Indecent attitude and lack of regard for their maker is solely responsible for this. People drink, smoke and inhale different kinds of substances in the name of catching fun.

Young people jump from one person or the other, engaging in illicit activities in the name of catching fun, as a result, many of them end up sleeping with river goddess and marine priest thereby exchanging their destinies for five minutes enjoyments. As you go about sojourning in this life, remember that you will surely give account of whatever you do, so thread with caution.

This now reminds me of two Unilag students that got drowned in the Elegushi beach recently. The government just went ahead to arrest the beach managers, the beach managers explained that they instructed fun seekers not to go beyond the red flag but they went ahead to disobey.

The painful aspect of this occurrence was the fact that their friends hurriedly snatched them from the rescuers to take them to the hospital. As graduates and undergraduates, they are supposed to be learned enough to know that a rescued drown person needs to be giving first aid, water needs to be pumped out of such person as soon as possible and external respiration has to be applied.

But to my greatest surprise, they rushed them away without giving them the opportunity of receiving first aid. It’s so unfortunate and I feel so sad for the families of these two elegant beautiful and intelligent ladies whose lives were cut short in their prime.

They both graduated from Covenant University with very good grades and are studying for Master’s Degree at the University of Lagos. If you are a Nigerian, you will understand what studying at Covenant University means. It’s so unfortunate.

Dear friends, I beseech you, avoid any kind of fun that is risky. There are several ways to enjoy yourself with your friends, choose the less risky activities I beg you. Above all, involve God in all you do, seek Him first for direction.

If you allow Him to direct your paths, even if you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you shall not be harmed. Doing this is very simply, know Him personally by having a relationship with Him; endeavour to do what He says in Mathew chapter six verses thirty-three and all will be well with you.

Till I come your way again, remain blessed.
